David, I am sad and shocked to read about your harrowing childhood. My heart goes out to you. I wish someone could have protected that precious little boy.

Your heartbreaking and revealing poem is, I'm sure, only a glimpse into what you endured. Look at who you've become though. You've taken all that pain and sadness and reshaped and channelled it into an other worldly talent for poetry.
