Great article and advice, Michele. I decided to try an alcohol free lifestyle in February 2021. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had fallen into the habit of one or two glasses of wine a night and had started to worry I was dependent on alcohol. I missed my wine for the first couple of months but now I hardly ever think about alcohol.
Over a period of two years my health has improved, my sleep apnea has improved, I’ve lost 25+ pounds and am at my ideal weight. I have more energy, I can focus on my work, my balance issues have improved and I feel so much better about myself.
For anyone reading this and thinking of doing dry January or trying an alcohol free life, I strongly encourage you to do it. Later, you will say it was one of the best decisions of your life. Here’s to a happy, healthy and alcohol free 2023! :)
