I'm glad you wrote about this. I see no difference between "cooperative overlapping" and interrupting. Cutting someone off when they're speaking is rude and annoying. I try and avoid interrupting people and feel horrible when I realize I've done it.

We already know what we know so isn't it better to hear what the other person has to say? Maybe we'd learn something new if we practiced active listening. Like most of us, I'm a work in progress.
