John, this is a really beautiful essay. I have also met "glowing souls" and they made a memorable impression. I believe we all have the potential to be glowing souls to others.

I loved the description of your father writing Christmas cards. I sent a few cards this year and included hand painted bookmarks. The people that received them loved them. It's so unusual these days to receive handwritten mail.
