Kai, first of all I'm sending you a huge, warm hug. I am so sorry You lost your beautiful mom. She sounds like a wonderful person and a great mother.

You and your family did everything you could to help and support her. Even when people are unconscious they are often aware of those around them even though they can't respond. I'm sure your presence was comforting to your mom.

No one chooses to come into this world but everyone should be allowed to exit life with grace and dignity. I recently accompanied my aunt through medical assistance in dying (MAID) in Canada. It was a heartbreaking, beautiful, peaceful end to life. I would choose this route for myself under similar circumstances and would wish this choice for everyone in the world.

Hold on to the happy memories of your mom and know you did everything you could for her. Be very kind to yourself. It takes a long time to process the loss of a parent. 💗
