Meaghan, this is a heartbreaking situation. I feel for you and your grandmother. Her life is intolerable and she should be allowed to exit gracefully with dignity. We wouldn't let our pets suffer like this so why is it so difficult for governments to allow the same rules around human life?

I Live in BC Canada and a few years ago I accompanied my aunt through the process of medical assistance in dying, also known as MAID. It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do but it was what my aunt wanted and it was the right thing.

She was in the end stages of cancer and in a lot of pain with no hope of recovery. Having the choice to end her life peacefully on her terms, though heartbreaking to all, was a blessing to her and to our family.

None of us choose to be born, but we should have the right to choose how and when to die. I wish you and your grandmother strength. 💕
