Thanks for sharing this experience, John. I know that feeling of being looked down on with pity because of having a job as a server or store worker. I like that you found creative ways to deal with tricky questions and difficult customers.

When I participated in the Welfare Food Challenge, I learned that according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 820 million people in the world are hungry, and an estimated one-third of all food produced globally goes to waste. I've also seen this first hand when my son worked in a local bakery. We all have a responsibility to stop wasting food. Great article.
