That last line gave me chills, Michael. I was in the ED with defibrillator pads on me two weeks ago, wondering if my time was up. Thankfully it wasn't.
I come from a medical family and know how hard doctors and nurses work. I greatly admire those who work in the ED though as everything moves so rapidly.
Decisions need to be made fast while at the same time communicating with terrified patients and family members. It's definitely not a job for the faint hearted.
You have a lot to be proud of and I look forward to reading more stories from the ED.
