This poem really touched my heart, Thomas. The human spirit is complex and powerful. It would be so much easier to gently slip away and yet most keep going, sometimes against all odds with hope in their hearts. Hope that one day they will be loved and cared for, no longer be hungry, homeless or in constant pain. Thank you capturing the gift of resilience so eloquently with this heartbreaking poem.
